Why We Built Take Control Science: A Conversation with Niraj Patel, DO, MBA

As a physician, entrepreneur, and wellness strategist, Niraj Patel, DO, MBA, brings a multifaceted perspective to Take Control Science. His background in clinical medicine, business, and performance optimization gives him a unique lens into how people actually live — and what it really takes to create meaningful change.

In this conversation, Niraj shares why he co-founded Take Control Science, how mindset shapes long-term wellness, and why Core Control is more than a product. It is a philosophy built around ownership, consistency, and daily momentum.

You’ve worked in clinical care, business, and performance. What led you to co-found a wellness brand?

Niraj Patel: I have always believed in building things that solve real problems. One of the biggest problems I kept seeing was the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it.

As physicians, we give people advice every day: eat better, move more, manage stress, sleep more, be consistent. But the reality is that most people are trying to make those changes inside systems that do not support them.

I wanted to create something modern, trustworthy, and empowering that helped people bridge that gap. Take Control Science was built to support people in the daily decisions that shape their health over time.

What was missing in the wellness space that you wanted to fix?

Niraj: Credibility.

There are a lot of wellness brands with great marketing but very little substance behind the product. On the other side, there are scientific products that feel cold, confusing, or inaccessible to the average person.

We wanted to merge those worlds. The goal was to build something medically credible and culturally relevant. Something that speaks clearly to everyday people, while still earning the respect of practitioners, researchers, and people who care deeply about the science.

How did you think about brand positioning and messaging?

Niraj: From day one, the message was ownership.

We never wanted to say, “Here is a pill that will fix your life.” That is not real wellness. Instead, we wanted to say, “Here is a tool to help you show up for yourself.”

That is why the brand is called Take Control Science. The science matters. The action matters. The person matters. If someone is ready to take control of their health, we want to give them tools they can trust.

What role does mindset play in long-term wellness?

Niraj: It plays a central role.

You can have the best trainer, the best supplement, the best meal plan, and the best routine. But if your identity does not align with those behaviors, the habits usually do not last.

That is why we talk so much about consistency, habits, and personal ownership. When someone stops seeing themselves as a person trying to get healthy and starts seeing themselves as a healthy person, their decisions begin to change.

That identity shift is powerful.

How does Core Control support that kind of identity shift?

Niraj: Core Control is about momentum.

It is designed to support cravings, energy, metabolic health, and daily consistency. Those small wins matter because when people start feeling better, they often start making better choices.

The product is not the hero of the story. The person is. Core Control is the sidekick that helps support better daily rhythm, better choices, and better follow-through.

Who is Core Control really for?

Niraj: It is not only for people focused on weight management.

It is for people who want to feel sharper at work, show up with more energy for their families, support their metabolism, feel better in their bodies, and build more consistent habits.

It is for busy parents, professionals, entrepreneurs, athletes, and anyone who is ready to stop outsourcing their health and start owning it.

If you are serious about taking control, Core Control was built for you.

How do you address skepticism around supplements?

Niraj: First, with transparency.

We do not hide behind vague positioning or proprietary blends. We show the ingredient stack and explain why each component is there.

Second, we put our names on it. I take Core Control every day. So does Samir. We designed it because we could not find something we trusted enough to take ourselves.

That is the standard. If we would not use it, we will not make it.

What feedback from users has stayed with you the most?

Niraj: The stories that stay with me are the ones where people say, “I feel like I have my energy back,” or “I finally feel in control again.”

That is what matters. It is not just about a number on a scale. It is about how people feel in their daily lives. It is about identity regained.

When someone tells you they are showing up differently because of something you helped build, that is the real win.

What excites you most about the future of Take Control Science?

Niraj: The community.

We are not just building a supplement company. We are building a culture around ownership, consistency, and long-term vitality.

I want to see people supporting each other, sharing their stories, and holding themselves accountable — not to perfection, but to progress.

That is when a brand becomes something bigger. That is when it becomes a movement.
